y = 2x + 6

2x = x2 + 4x -3

0 = (x + 3)(x - 1)
x + 3 = 0     x - 1 = 0
x = -3          x = 1
Substitute each value back into the linear equation. y = 2x + 6

y = 2(-3) + 6
y = -6 + 6
y = 0           (-3,0)

y = 2x + 6

y = 2(1) + 6
y = 2 + 6
y = 8            (1,8)
