Using a MIRA with Reflections
Topic Index | Geometry Index | Regents Exam Prep Center

A Mira™ is a small plastic device used to help students understand the concept of reflections.  As seen in the photo at the right, objects are reflected in the plastic.  By looking through the plastic, a student can then draw the image.  Below are examples of only a few of the exercises that can be done with a Mira™.

Problems using the mira™:

1.  Using the Mira™, draw the image of the word "way" reflected over segment AB

2.  Using the Mira™, find the line of reflection between these triangles.

3. Using the Mira™, draw the image of points A, B, and C after a reflection over the given line segment.
