Emergency Broadcasting Stations
Using the map scale, a knowledge of locus, and construction skills, students are to draw (construct) on the map the possible locations of the broadcasting stations. A short paragraph describing the location should be prepared. The paragraph should indicate any physical obstacles such as rivers, lakes, highways, etc. which will need to be avoided. If working in pairs, have each pair work with a different set of cities. If time allows, students could present their findings to the class using an overhead transparency of the map and colored markers.
