Throughout United States history, many Americans have
attempted to better their lives through science and
technology. From
early inventions such as the
cotton gin, to personal computer revolution of today, science
and technology has had a
fundamental impact on the way people live. Different
periods in U.S. history have been marked
by important discoveries in science and technology.
These include the early Republic marked by increasing
industrialization, the Industrial Revolution, which
build great cities and and gave the middle class greater
power, and the modern era that has created every comfort
a person could want, and allowed us to walk on the Moon.
Each phase of development changed the country in many
different way.
This site is designed to aid students in reviewing major
periods of scientific and technological advancement in
United States history. This site should be used in
preparation for the New York State Regents Exam in
United States History and Government. In addition,
